Flights: Southwest- Direct Flight- certainly no frills airline, but the trip was smooth and inexpensive
Resort: Mirage: very nice, checked in at 11:00 AM- rooms were ready- nice rooms- good views- good service....nice middle of the strip location
Cons: food choices more limited than any other resorts
Pros: pool area is very nice, middle of the strip, very convenient, beautiful landscaping
Service was excellent. Resort fee of 12.95 per night automatically charged to your room
At least it included: free internet access, 2 bottles of water per day, and free printing of your boarding passes
Shows: saw The Beatles' Love Show (highly recommend)...It was incredible!
All seats are good seats for this show. (We got two free tickets per room included in our pkg.)
saw The Blue Man Group- different, but very funny and entertaining
Transports: Presidential Limo to/from airport very nice...only a little more than taking the shuttle since we had 6 people...met with champagne and roses...nice treatment.
on our departure our driver stopped at the famous Las Vegas Sign for us to take pics
Figured out the ACE and DUECE bus and it was very nice for going up and down the strip...some wait time, but we still preferred it after walking the strip the first two days
If you want to eat at RIO Buffet or just visit the RIO, you can get a free shuttle from Harrahs- to/from
Restaurants: so many good ones and we really didn't hit too many of them- had a 6 year old with us, so we didn't do so much fine dining
BB Kings in our hotel was just okay
Dos Caminos (Palazzo) was very good Mexican food (We got a dinner and show pkg. for Blue Man Group)
Carnegie Deli in the Mirage was very good- large sandwiches
Breakfast Buffet at Cravings in the Mirage- pretty good
Room Service Breakfast- very good
Stratosphere Top of the World- food was decent, service was horrible, but the view was worth it...restaurant rotates 360 degrees as you eat, so you get a nice view of Vegas...then you can go to the top observation deck (for no charge)
Lunch is casual and much cheaper than dinner
Fun things we did:
Of course...watched the Volcano at the Mirage
Bellagio Fountain Show
Eiffel Tower in the evening
NY NY Rollercoaster
just walking through as many casinos as possible- loved Caesar's, but then I am partial to Rome
eating Gelato![]()
FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE- fun, fun, fun...take the ACE bus...free live entertainment, much better prices on everything- just nice
Circus! Circus! for the children
Off the Road- took a nice tour to Grand Canyon with a stop by Hoover Dam...long day, but we enjoyed seeing the Canyon and since we are on the east coast...this was our first opportunity to do so...took a whole day, but it was worth it...
We were back to our hotel by about 8:30 and had plenty of time to hit the casinos
Mirage Casino: all the usual table games, most all with at least a 10.00 limit...
FUN, FUN, FUN
TIP: If you are going to gamble, take whatever money you want to spend on gambling and buy chips on the first night...you can always cash them in..It's easier to keep up with how much you are losing (or winning) with the chips than if you are just pulling 20's out of your pocket...
Free drinks served if you are gambling
remember to tip all service people...dealers, cocktail waiters/waitresses, maids, bell men, etc.
Hope this is brief and helpful!!
