Vegas Airport Cab Lines?
One of my girlfriends just called me and said she read an article that the cab lines at the Vegas airport were 300 people long and this is commonplace.
Yes, we are arriving on a Friday of the marathon weekend. Should I book a car?
Has anyone experienced this? We'll be there this weekend for the Vegas marathon.

I was there in October, arriving on the Friday of Columbus Day weekend, and it was pretty crazy. I would definitely say there were hundreds in line, but it was pretty efficient. I can't remember how long we waited...around 30 minutes maybe? If the expense is worth it to you, you may want to look into the car option.

I think a lot depends on the day and what time you arrive. I would imagine Fridays are quite busy.
When I go to Vegas, I usually arrive mid-week. However, there's been times when I've arrived and the taxi line was HUGE. For as many people that were in the line, it seemed to move rather quickly.
Other times (usually really early in the morning) it was rather short - maybe 20 people long.
I've never been there during the marathon weekend, so I can't say how that event affects the crowds.

Scheduled shuttles are an alternative to taxis from the airport. You might call your hotel to inquire which shuttle they recommend, then contact to make a time and avoid the line up altogether.
Often the taxi line is longer than the drive to the strip.

I lived in Vegas for three years and frequently took a cab from the airport to my house. Yes, at times, especially on Friday nights, the line can be amazingly long. But it goes pretty quick. Even at the worst times, you'll wait 20 minutes. Odds are, you'll wait 5 for a cab. It goes quickly.
