Value lodging near Bryce

Do any of you savy travellers have advice for a good value accomodation in or near Bryce or Zion, for that matter, something nice but reasonable, perhaps with a view? Thanks

In Torrey, near Capitol Reef State Park...I can recommend the Boulder View Inn as a terrific value motel with beautiful views.

You can stay right in Bryce at the Bryce Canyon Lodge. The restaurant has good food. In Zion I have stayed at a wonderful small B and B called Canyon Vista. They only have 4 rooms, and the owners Matt and Trista are very friendly. If you have time, I would also encourage you to drive further east on Hwy 12 than Bryce. The views on Hwy 12 from Escalante to Boulder are amazing! I can also recommend the Kiva Koffee house on Hwy 12 east of Escalante. They have two rooms, and amazing views of the Escalante River. Stop by at least for coffee or lunch! The Boulder Mountain Lodge in Boulder has great rooms, and the Hell's Backbone Grill on the same property has the best food in the area.
I hope you have a great trip!

We stayed in Tropic - just a few miles past Bryce Canyon entrance at the Bryce Canyon Inn. They have individual log cabins which were brand new and immaculately clean. Their restaurant specialized in pizza which was excellent. We also took the package for a few dollars more included breakfast. The rates were very reasonable. Here is the website.

Hi Kmack,

It would probably help a lot if you define "good value". What exact price range are you looking for? Lodging choices in and around the Natl Parks are limited, especially at Bryce so there is not a lot of options.

The Boulder Mtn Lodge is wonderful, but certainly isn't a "value" property -- unless you live in NYC!

Dayle, who is asking the question here? JUST KIDDING. I would define value, in this case, as quality at a reasonable price. For me a view is more valuable than a pool or a hot tub.A location in a nearby town or vicinity is fine with me.What is a reasonable price you might ask. How about 50 to 100 dollars. Thanks for the suggestions so far friends.

Ok, kmack, here you go!

If you go during the season - May - Sept most of the lodging options in the Natl Parks or in nearby towns will be over $100/night. If you go during off season - Oct to April you could find something below $100, but not by much.

Boulder Mtn Lodge is around $150/night and up.

Natl Park lodges and cabins are still going to be around $100/night even off season.

There are a couple of motels in Sprindale outside Zion that will have rooms in the range of $80 - $100 off season.

Bryce and nearby Tropic (also Capitol Reef and Torrey) will be your best bet for lower lodging costs OFF SEASON.

I know this because I usually travel solo and on a strict budget. Lucky for me I prefer camping!

Buona fortuna!

At Bryce, Ruby's is worth a look. Nice accomodations, good prices, OK food, and a great location.
