Vail true ski-in/ski-out
My husband is now spoiled and only wants to stay where he can strap on his skis and go. Last year we stayed at Highland Slopeside in Beaver Creek and loved it. The year before at Beaver Run in Breck. Which ones are that close in Vail? We will be there early - Nov. 30 - Dec. 4. Antlers, Lion Square Lodge or Lodge at Vail? Any advice? Thanks

The Lodge at Vail is ski-in/ski-out. We stayed there several years ago and loved it. Great ambience. Wonderful daily breakfast buffet. Nice heated outdoor pool and several outdoor hottubs.
Not only is it the one of the closest to the main lift, but The Lodge also had an attendant right when you get off the lift that will take your skis right as you get off the lift, wax/sharpen them up for the next day. You just pick them up at the lift. We literally walked right to the lift from our room in our ski boots.
Not sure about Lion Square Lodge -- I think it's also relatively close to lift. It's not in the main village area -- one of the other central areas, also with restaurants/bars around that area. There's a shuttle that runs over to the main village.
I would recommend staying in the main village. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to go again.

We've stayed at the Highlands Slopeside as well and you won't find a similar location at Vail. You can't beat skiing down to the lifts in the morning and skiing back right into your living room in the afternoon. The Lodge at Vail would be the closest to Highlands in terms of access. Lion Square is probably next closest and has the advantage of the Gondola. However, you will also have to deal with the construction in Lionshead. To be honest, though, I would rather stay in the Christiania, rather than the Lodge. It is ski in/ski out in the main season, but might be a short walk at the time you're going. It's just more relaxed and friendly than the Lodge at Vail. Is it as luxurious as the Lodge at Vail? No. Instead, it's more of a traditional ski lodge where you mix and mingle with the other guests and swap stories. I think the Christiania is just a better ski experience. (Breakfast, however, is very basic).

Lions Square is great. You'll love it. Advice? We always use HIgh Mountain Taxi from the airport. We just book online at hmtaxi.com. Also have you been to Sam's in Edwards? What a great restaurant.

Lionsquare Lodge may be your best bet as their is construction at the main chairlift behind the Lodge at Vail. Antlers is also impacted by construction. Have you considered Beaver Creek again> it simply has more ski-in/out options as it is in a horseshow shape with more mountain access than Vail Village which has very few. In Vail, You might check out The Christiania, Tivoli Lodge.
