Vacation rental California coast - need help

I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction on where to find a vacation rental that will accommodate about 20 people. We are looking to do a family get together and are interested in renting a large house that will accomodate us all

Our only requirement is that it be on a beach or very close to one in California. We really like Southern California like Huntington Beach, Newport or Laguna but are open to any city that is coastal.

I have tried doing a search on VRBO and google in general but having a hard time finding something that will accommodate us and is on or close to a beach.

If anyone has any suggestions or links I would really appreciate it

Thanks

I should add that even though we prefer coastal California we will choose anywhere in the continental 48 states, some members not willing to go to Hawaii.

Again our only requirement is that it be coastal as the beach is a big part of our get together. We are looking to travel during the summer sometime and are open to anytime during the summer months

Houses that size are out there but are few and far between . . .

I'd consider a place that has several units/cottages/condos/whatever on the same property

Like here http://www.pajarodunes.com/index.php on Monterey Bay.

or http://www.searanchgetaway.com/ on the Sonoma coast.

or similar places in SoCal

I really love Laguna Beach, and I think it is a great location to satisfy a group. There are beautiful beaches, restaurants, shopping, art, theatre, and the town is very walkable. Although it is crowded in the summer, it is fun and full of charm.

Here's a couple of places that might work if you can't find a large enough house. One is a 6 suite B&B in town, another is a more remote family oriented resort.

We have quite a few here on the Monterey Peninsula that will do the trick. http://www.montereyrentals.com/vactionrentals.html

We stayed in a beach house with 3 families a few years ago in Cayucos, California. It is between Morro Bay and Cambria. It was a great location for a large group. You could go hiking, biking or kayaking in Morro Bay, You coud go wine tasting in Paso Robles and also visit Hearst Castle.

The house we stayed in was through Cayucos Vacation Rentals. It was 3 or 4 levels, with a giant family room with pingpong, fusball and other entertainment downstairs, a giant kitchen with the best plates, silverware etc. I saw for a rental. Lots of bedrooms and baths.

Hope this helps.

I have stayed at Pajaro Dunes a few times, and I'd recommend that option. It's a collection of condos right on the beach just outside the farming community of Watsonville, but close enough to Santa Cruz for day trips if you like that sort of thing.
