We are trying to decide whether to go to Virgina Beach, VA or Ocean City, MD. Never been to Ocean City, MD. Have visited Williamsburg two years ago and had a great time, but didn't make to the beach. It's been 25 years since I've been to Virgina Beach, and I'm sure much has changed! We have two 12 year old boys to consider in our plans. If you have any info on either place, can you suggest somewhere on the beach front to stay?

Hi Janet - I live in the VA Beach area and while I've never stayed at any of the hotels, there are numerous ones that are right on the beach and one street over. They're the standard ones - Holiday Inn, etc. You're right, much has changed since you've last been here and there are so many fun and interesting things to do, especially if you're willing to travel out a bit from the beach to the surrounding cities. Here are a few websites that may be of help to you in deciding about VA Beach as opposed to Ocean City. If there are specific things that your family likes to do (museums, etc.), I'll be glad to give some suggestions, as well as to restaurants, if you like certain foods. Enjoy your planning.
