US Southwest
Need suggestions of the best places to go with about 10 days in the Southwest. Would like to go to New Mexico, Arizona & Utah. Is this too little time? I appreciate all the advice...

When do you plan to go? This is plenty of time to do a lot, but if you are planning for this summer you are late getting lodging.
For some ideas, you could click my name and scroll down to the trip reports I've written for some of our trips of about the same number of days.

If I could go back for just one more trip to the SW, this is where I'd go. This is an open-jaw trip, flying in and out of different airports and dropping the rental car also. It may be a lot cheaper to return the car back at the original airport, and that would require more driving.
Fly into Phoenix/Scottsdale - visit Taliesin West on a night tour
Day 2 - Drive to Sedona - take a Pink Jeep tour (Broken Arrow) and enjoy the red rocks around Sedona
Days 3 & 4 - stay at the south rim of the Grand Canyon
Day 5 - off to Monument Valley and spend the night at Gouldings Lodge
Day 6 - off to Chinle - tour of Canyon de Chelly
Day 7 and 8 - off to Durango and visit Mesa Verde NP
Day 9 - down to Santa Fe
Day 10 - to ABQ to fly out
That doesn't get you to the parks of Utah, but you could adjust. My pick would be Arches.
North Rim of the Grand Canyon is a good choice in summer.

Lodging will not be a problem except inside a national park. You book a room nearby that you can cancel and then call often (even daily) to see if there has been a cancellation. If so, book those days in the park and cancel the outside park lodging reservation.
