US-Canada Itinerary - Help Please!

Jump to last reply

In June my family will fly into the Spokane/Coeur D Alene area. We will be there for a few days to visit with friends. From here we are going to head up into Canada.

We would like to visit Sandpoint/Bonners Ferry and then into the Kimberley/Cranbrook area. Is there a place in this region that you all would recommend we stay at? We enjoy all outdoor activities, cultural and historical interests, good food and off-the-beaten path places to stay.

From there we plan to head to Lake Louise. I have booked Deer Lodge for a few nights. I am contemplating cutting it short one night and booking a room in Banff. Any thoughts?

From here we plan to head to Calgary where I booked the HOTEL ARTS.

At this point we plan to head back to the US via the Lethbridge area, although I am open to suggestions.
I was thinking the Great Falls are maybe interesting, then to St Mary and the Road to the Sun. Not sure where to stay in these areas?

Kalispell looks interesting. We would then head towards Seely, maybe stay there and then to Missoula. From here we were thinking the St. Regis area and then back to Coeur D Alene/Spokane.

We do not have towns choosen or places to stay in these areas. Suggestions would be great. We love camping cabins as an option. We will have our 13 year old with us. He loves all water sports. We will have a car but no camping equipment so tent camping is out.

Your thoughts are appreciated!
