If you stick to pizza and pasta, Cafe Fiorello would work for you. It is very popular, especially before shows, so I would try to get a reservation ASAP for a large group.

Our favorite is Josephina, across the street from Lincoln Center.
Shun Lee has very good Chinese - and you should be able to stay within your budget as long as you don;t go for Peking duck or similar.
