Upper Midwest Road trip

Jump to last reply

My husband and I would like to take a road trip the weekend of July 4th, leaving from Minneapolis, and need to return Sunday the 8th. We are able to leave the evening of the 3rd, if necessary.

We are on a bit of a budget, but not campers. This is our first road trip. We don't have a particular place we feel we "need" to see at this point, despite our research so far. Does anyone have advice, suggestions, or ideas?

What are the MUST SEE parks, cute towns, restaurants, 4th of July happenings around MN, SD, IA, WI?

We are in our 30's and are able bodied. My husband is a photographer and would prefer some nice scenery.

Thanks!!!
