Dear sister just volunteered her husband to pick me up from Union Station, Chicago, tomorrow (Sunday). The plan until a few minutes ago was that I'd wait at the station 4 hours and take a train that would drop me off closer to their home. I guess I shouldn't have been honest when she asked me how long I'd be waiting between trains.
None of us are familiar with the area around Union Station; is there a drop off/pick up location for passengers?
If not what are your suggestions? Would prefer not to have to park the car.
Thanks in advance.

Have arrived at Union Station Chicago a few times but never had anyone picking me up.
Two choices The parking facility entrance is between VanBuren and Jackson on the left side of S. Canal. $8 first half hour $12 up to an hour. There is a parking lot on the South side of Jackson but I doubt the rate will be better.
Second chioce: Take a Metra train to a station closer to your ride.
Metra also uses the same station.
You might be able to arrange with cell phone a pickup along Jackson or Canal.
If I recall correctly, when you get off your train and into the station, look for the signage that directs you to Canal Street and taxis. there should be escalators and an elevator as well. /Your ride should able to wait for you close to the entrance on Canal or at the very least orbit Canal, W Adams, S Clinton, Jackson and then back on Canal.
Canal is one way going north, Adams one way going west, Clinton one way south, Jackson onelway back east to Canal
