Uber Ride from LV to South Rim, Grand Canyon?
Hi,
We are a family of 3 visiting GC end June 2016
As we are not familiar with US roads, we are looking for Uber drivers to get to/from or hotel in Karen Ave (LV) to South Rim GC....all to be covered within a day
Would appreciate if anyone could share their experience if this is possible.
Thanks!

If you're willing to take part in a 14 hour day tour on a bus, check out
http://www.grandcanyontourcompany.com/bussouth.html
The cost, even for three people, would probably be less than an Uber driver. Note that you leave at 7:30am and don't return until 9:30pm.
Also note Michelle's advice: you could rent a car in Vegas for two days and spend one night in or near the Canyon, and still spend less than the $240 it would cost for the bus tour I noted. Not to mention getting FAR more than just three hours at the rim!

Grand Canyon South Rim is 4-5 hour drive oneway from Las Vegas. Rent a car and stay overnight if possible. If you cannot get lodging inside the park (start looking NOW) there are some motels in nearby Tusayan.
If for some reason you cannot drive, then look into a tour, preferably one that stays overnight time permitting, otherwise Paul gave you a good suggestion.

Everyone above has given you good advice - your plan to Uber to the South Rim is really not realistic. The Grand Canyon (as noted) is between 4 and 5 hours from Las Vegas. That is far enough away that it really is not a day trip. The best way to see the Grand Canyon is to get a hotel room in the park. The canyon is most impressive at sunrise and sunset and you won't get to see that if you attempt to do it as a day trip. I hope you will change your plans.

All of above is true;
There is an alternative to South Rim and that is the West Rim:
Alert: This is a narrow deep canyon that does not have the width of the South or North rim of the grand canyon
BUT - they have a unique 'sky walk'
AND helicopter service from LV - Just google it
Start:
http://grandcanyonwest.com/
Click on Sky Walk and then the video to the right
or this one

Before you even START to consider going to the West Rim, know this simple fact: walking on the Skywalk costs $71 PER PERSON -- PLUS TAX!!
http://tickets.hualapaitourism.com/w...ExternalID=PUC
And that does NOT include transportation there.
Or you can see the South Rim for $80 per person, which DOES include transportation.
Or you can rent a car, drive to the South Rim, spend a night in Tusayan, and see the South Rim at dusk and dawn -- all for LESS than $240 for a party of three.
The choice is yours -- but I think there is only one reasonable choice.
