Is the beach in front of the Savannah Beach and Racquet Club on Tybee Island on the Atlanic or the Savannah River?? Has anyone stayed there?

I have stayed on the 3rd floor of the unit on the end. (307C, I think) and I am not sure if it is technically river front or ocean. What I do know is that it is our favorite place on Tybee (we've stayed at several areas) and the views are magnificent. The shrimp boats come in and go out here and the dolphins follow. Great local, quiet and the pools are nice. Can't imagine anyone not liking this place !

Take a look at this map

http://www.desotobeachhotel.com/

the Savannah Beach and Racquet club is on Bay St. (I think, not sure) that's around on the North End with the beach part of the Savannah River entrance. It is an interesting place to stay because of being able to see the ships, etc.

But it isn't really on the ocean. That's the part of the map that is off Butler Ave....which is considered the main street.

Savannah Beach and Racquet Club is on the Savannah River. There one sandy point to the east of the Club and then the Atlantic. Instead of watching wave after wave, we get to see the ships going into Savannah, shrimp boats, kayakers, and best of all, DOLPHINS daily from April through November. I have seen the Coast Guard practicing operations there too. An ever-changing scenery.
Get an end, water-front unit and you will look across the River to Cockspur, Daufauski, Turtle and Hilton Head Islands. You will view Fort Pulaski on Cockspur Island, which is definitely worth a visit (National Park Monument).
You gotta LOVE Tybee.

Lighthouse Inn is a 3-BR historic officer's cottage/inn, lovingly restored by well-connected Tybee residents. If you're looking for the adventures as well as hometown, insider experience you may want to check out this darling B&B. It's about a 3-minute walk in the privacy of the Atlantic Ocean's north beach ... great for strolling, birding, shelling, sunning and private picnic. The innkeepers are darling!
