between 1970-1977.

"One World Trade Center was ready for its first tenants in late 1970, though the upper stories were not completed until 1972; Two World Trade Center was finished in 1973."

And for those who love wines, lets never forget the Windows On The World wine classes ... the book is a classic. Interestingly, the Wine Spectator did a full issue on NYC several years ago, and on the cover a nightime shot of the towers ... splendid. And did you look at the New Yorker cover right after 9/11/01 ... solid black, but if you held the paper at an angle you could see a dim outline of the towers. Ciao

The ribbon-cutting for the twin towers was April 4, 1973. Hope that helps.

Allan- The Twin Towers were opened for business in 1976, although the Trade Center, which is the entire 17 acre complex was begun in 1970. It was a magnificant area, and it is a shame what happened.

I tried to get a copy of the New Yorker
magazine with the Twin Towers on the
cover...but it sold out in a flash.
Any advise on how to get a copy?

Is there anywhere to go that gets you close to where the Towers were as far as picture taking etc.? I was born in NYC and remember them being built & how remarkable they were. Many of my pictures have them from the water looking back to shore. I would like to have some now to help show my kids how life changed while they were growing up.
