Would like to stay overnight near Target Field, and am looking for recommendations for places to stay, and also walking neighborhoods of interest. We like things of local flavor, not chains. Is there an area we should, if you'll pardon the pun, "target?"
Twin Cities walking around stuff to do?

Mrspresident, when we stay in a hotel downtown we stay at a Radisson, I think its on 6th street. 4 blocks to Target field. There are many downtown hotels, The Graves 101 is a few steps from target field, The Marquette is also reasonably priced. Downtown walking for me is on the Nicolett mall, lots of restaurants and bars. If you are looking for something more outdoorsy we like the Minnehaha Falls arbitorium and park area, lots of walking and biking paths.(flowers too) Como Zoo/park area is worth exploring, even without kids. There are biking paths leading from Target Field that you can walk also. How long and when are you going to be in Minneapolis?
Go to the city lakes, Lake of the Isles, Lake Calhoun, etc and follow the walking paths. Beautiful setting.
