I'm going to be taking a business trip to Raytown, Missouri, in March. Where should I stay, dine, and play (after business is done of course)? I really do NOT want to go into Kansas City -- big cities don't do much for me -- and would prefer to stay in the Raytown area.

Boston, my 2 hour food shopping spree to satiate my man's needs

Don't wish to sound pessimistic, but Raytown is really just a part of Kansas City, a suburb like Westwood in LA or Cicero in Chicago, etc. Unfortunately it's not one of the nicer areas of KC and hotel choices are limited, mostly smaller low budget types. The Adam's Mark is OK and is not too far off, on I-70 across from the Royals' and Chiefs' stadiums. The better hotels (Ritz, now Fairmont, Westin, Hyatt, Marriotts, etc) are all downtown or in the Plaza area. That's about a 13-15 minute drive to Raytown if traffic's light. As for things to do, depends on what you like. There's the usual array of golf courses, several casinos, theatre, etc. Sorry I can't offer more exciting news.
How was the Raytown trip? I grew up there and could have answered your question! WOW! Oh well, maybe next time! Did you check out Funkytown or Swope Park Zoo? or what about Bannister Mall?
