Trip to London
My granddaughters are going to a Hair Show in London. There are 8 people that are going to travel with them. We have never been so far so it is kind of scary. We would like to visit several sites in London,we will not have a vehicle. We would love to travel to other places around London such as Paris, Rome etc. They say it is very expensive, we also need to know how the currency works?

Gloria, you need to re-start this thread on the Europe board. You won't get too many answers to this because you posted on the U.S. board. When you do re-post, you might want to state how long you expect to be in Europe and a general sense of your budget.
As far as how the money works, I have found that in England something that costs $3.00 in the U.S. costs 3 pounds there. However, one pound is worth about two dollars (depending on the exchange rate) so things cost about twice as much there as they do here.
Unless you have a bunch of money and a ton of time, it seems like you probably should just stay in England. It will be much easier and cheaper.

Huh. That IS weird. I hope she can find the answers she needs. I was hoping she would repost b/c I think that a thread devoted to basic questions about European travel would have been useful to a lot of people.
