Trip to florida & NC in july
Im planning a trip down south in july with husband & kids. 2 boys 12 & 9. First part of trip miami second part Disney and third part NC. Never been to Miami. Any suggestions on where to stay in that vicinity? Doesnt exactly need to be in miami. Might be too wild for kids? But want hotel on beach, withing walking distance to restaurants & shops. Short drive to miami or south beach. Really would like to check out that area for the day. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Hi there..we recently stayed in Miami area at the Sheraton-Bal Harbor Resort on Collins Ave. right on the beach with a wonderful lagoon pool your boys would love. Just a short drive down to South Beach etc. We loved this spot. Only negative was that the windows in the room didn't open, my only complaint!! They often run specials on this resort, maybe for summer, but it will be hot in July.

Thank you for the info. Unfortunatly the hotel didn't have the nights that I needed available. Strange for the HOT summer months! I'm now looking into Sunny Isles, Trump Sonesta Beach Resort. That came up as another suggestion. Looks nice.

Please be aware that Florida will be extremely hot and humid that time of year. It can get very unbearable to be outdoors, even in the mornings. Disney will be extremely crowded that time of year. Your trip to NC will be fine, but if you can reschedule your Florida trip, I would.

Know the July heat & humidity in Florida very well. Been there done that .... Unfortunatly my husband only gets summer vacation & it works well with the kids being off from school. Just need to have plenty of water with us and think COOL thoughts!

sgriffin, North Carolina can also be hot & humid as Haedes in July ... don't let anyone kid you! You can be near the ocean in Florida with a temp of 93, or be in the Raleigh/Chapel Hill area with a temp of 90, and North Carolina will feel HOTTER! I hope your visit to Carolina will be the mountains or the coast ...

Our last stop of our vacation will be the Outer Banks in NC. We are a beach family, so heat doesn't really bother us. Went to Myrtle Beach last July. We tolerated the heat just fine. ( And a couple of frozen margeritas does the trick! )
