Trip Report Trip Report - Hiking to the HOLLYWOOD sign

I just spent 3 days in Los Angeles. My friend lives in Santa Monica and I was lucky to stay with her for a few days. I took advantages of the sunshine and wonderful weather to sunbath at Venice Beach, Rollerblade between Santa Monica and Venice, Shop in Santa Monica, and watch the sunset from the Santa Monica Pier. Even with these very "LA" beach activities, my favorite part of my stay was hiking the Wonder View Trail to the summits of Burbank Peak, Cahuenga Peak, and Mt. Lee - where I got a great view of the back of the iconic HOLLYWOOD sign, as well as views of the coast, the city of Los Angeles, and the surrounding San Gabriel Mountains.

For those interested in trying it, Iblogged about the hike here: http://thefreelanceadventurer.blogspot.com/2014/07/hiking-to-hollywood-sign.html

It's a 3 mile out-and-back hike and gives you amazing views of the area. Who knew such awesome wilderness was in one of the biggest cities in the country!
