Trip from San Jose to LA what to do, see, stay!

DH will be in San Jose for business in late April. I will be flying there on a Tuesday then we will be leisurely driving down the coast for a wedding in LA on Saturday (flying out of LAX on Sunday)
Any ideas of where to go, stay, eat, etc.

I haven't been to cali since I was a teen and he has never been.
Thanks!
Annie

Is "Curious" from california? If so you are getting your leg pulled. We californians just don't like "cali", although some of us may prefer it to "CAUL-EE-FOUR-NEE-YA"

Stops in San Francisco (Point Reyes?), San Luis Obispo (Cambria) and Santa Barbara would be high on my list.

The typical trip of this kind usually has the first stop Montery/Carmel. Drive the 17 mile drive, visit the world class Monterey Bay Aquarium Buy your ticket online or by telephone to avoid standing in line), see Point Lobos, shop in Carmel if that is your thing.

The next day drive through Big Sur, stopping as you wish...(look at a guide book). Stop for the night at San Simeon or Cambria. The next day take a mornng tour of Hearst Castle (get your reservations ahead of time.)

Assuming you didn't begin this trip until Wednesday, because you are flying in on Tuesday, the last night will need to be somewhere close enough to the wedding site to be there the next day.

Another vote for visitng Santa Barbara.

Monterey Aquarium, Point Lobos, Big Sur, San Simian, Disneyland, all usuals spots people talking about on here. YOu can search for good advices easy.

Dial 511 for roads info while in San Jose area in case there is bad traffic you will know why.

We using wireless and laptop for vieiwng the highway cameras online at the state website. A lotta help to avoid bad traffic at highway intersections in southern California. You can see video in live format.
