Rochester NY or Minnesota or some other Rochester?
If it is New York, you could travel by Amtrak either by way of Niagara Falls and Toronto or by way of Albany to get on the train to Montreal. ViaRail Canada will get you from either Toronto or Montreal to Quebec City. This would avoid getting caught in a sudden snowstorm with a car.
