Trenton, NJ Amtrak sta

I plan to drive to the Trenton Amtrak station, park in the garage and take NJ transit into NY city. How is the availability of parking at the station during the week, probably AM?

Thank you.

Where ever you do park, when returning in the evening, be very very careful and aware of your surroundings. Do not travel alone. The area isn't the best during the day and worse at night.

My sister used to park at the Trenton station every day to take the train into Manhattan. She keeps crazy hours so now she goes to Hamilton because she feels more comfortable there at 4:00 a.m. (it's also cheaper, I think).

I have parked at both and recently parked at Hamilton on 12/24/09.

Thank you all for your answers. I will be traveling alone so I especially appreciate the comments on safety, although I did not ask. I think I will head to Hamilton or perhaps Princeton. What do you think of New Brunswick station area?

We use the Hamilton station for our leisure daytrips and weekend trips to New York City because it is so convenient to Route 295--much easier access than Princeton Junction in our case. Since the new parking building was completed a few years ago, we've never had a problem finding a place to park. (Take the parking ticket with you; pay at the machine before you return to your car.)
