Treasure Island Petite Suite vs. Standard room @ Mirage

Have booked TI Petite Suite for 2 nights @ 139.00 per night. Now I see Mirage has a special rate during our dates for 109.00 per night, but it's only for the standard rooms. Mirage was originally our first choice, but was out of our price range. Given the choice, which would you pick and why?

HI --

I'd keep the petite suite at TI-- Have you seen the suite on their Web site? Looks great to me & the price is good. We stayed at the TI for the first time this last June & stayed in the deluxe room, which is nice, too. I really enjoyed TI. Good service, nice hotel & it is laid our really well & you don't have to walk forever to get where you are going. Have Fun!!

I'd stay in the TI suite because the Mirage rooms are small.

Artchik,
I've always been curious about the Petite Suites since the website photos look wonderful. Would you post a trip report when you get back and let us know? Have fun!

Here's a fly in the ointment- just received an email offer from Mirage for $95.00 per night for and upgraded view room which includes $20 in food credits and two free passes to the secret garden and dolphin habitat. This just looks too good to pass up. Plus it gives me another $100 or so to try my luck at the tables!

Tess, I will definitely post a trip report when I return.

Just found out today that I will be accompannying DH to LV in January for a large convention. His boss (who is traveling with us) always stays at TI- so the company will put us up there and we may kick in the difference ourselves to upgrade to the petite suite. So I'll get to try them both out within 4 months of each other. Lucky me!

PS- if anyone is interested in the above offer let me know and I'll email the promo code to you. It is good for stays from Sept. 7 - Oct. 23 Sunday thru Thursday only, but you have to book it by Sept. 12th to get the food & garden tix.

Hey- me again.

Didn't realize this until I booked it, but this promo is for a tower deluxe room, which is larger than standard rooms and has an upgraded bathroom w/separate shower and whirlpool tub. They are located on the 24th & 25th floors andhave their own private elevators. They are only available w/king beds, same as the petite suite @ TI. So aside from only having one bathroom instead of two, it's pretty comparable to the suite at TI after all.

I'm feeling lucky today..........let's hope it holds out until I'm actually in the casino!

I don't know, I stayed in a petite suite at TI before and don't think it's worth 140 clams. The entire room is large due to the dual bathrooms, which are spacious inside but doesn't really feel luxurious to me, but the bedroom area feels a bit cramped to be called a "suite" -- just a little more oversized than a traditional large style LV hotel room. It would be a lot better if they just made one large bathroom and gave the extra space back to the bedroom area. That's my opinion, but I would take the tower deluxe rooms at Mirage instead.

Hi Artchik,

After reading about your luck with the really good offer at the mirage, I'm very interested in the promo code!
We are from the Netherlands and booked all the hotels for our trip to the USA in advance. After reading on Fodors about the hotel they have booked for us in Las Vegas - Circus Circus - aaaaagh, I got really 'scared'. I cannot change this anymore, so, to make this trip memorable (and to surprise my boyfriend) I am trying to book another hotel. Because I've already paid for Circus Circus an offer like this would really help to cut my costs. (We probably will try to hit a few machines too ....)
Thanks in advance for your help!!!
Natalie
