Traveling to/from Newark Airport to Hoboken?

I just posted asking how to get from JFK to Hoboken...well my husband and I will be doing that ourselves, so won't be in too much of a rush.
But then I find out my friend is coming into Newark the next day, not JFK! Phheww...I hope that saves us time.
So since we'll already be in Jersey..would it be recommended to just take a cab to and from? She lands at 530pm and we have to be in the Village in NY at 8 for a show...
Any ideas??

Thanks in advance,

Samantha

Your issue as I pointed out earlier is what to do with said friend's luggage. It makes most sense to pick her up and the 3 of you continue on to Manhattan but I can't help on the luggage issue.

For options on how to get from Newark to Manhattan

but yes, a car service would probably be faster.

To get from Hoboken to EWR, you can use trains and buses (go to njtransit.com and use their trip planner) but it will take forever. I'd use a taxi or car service for that too.

What are you going to do with the carryon? She will not be able to take it into the theater.

Thats a good point...well she will have probably just a backpack..and I think we can bring that into the theater. I'll double check on that...

Doublecheck. It isn't uncommon to see "No Backpack" signs.

Since 9/11 more and more places are not allowing entry with anything more than a large handbag. (Just like most office buidlings have very tight security - electronic passes for everyone - that they never had before).

I think any luggage will be an issue. Definitely call the theater and describe size of luggage.

You may need to race to Hoboken and drop it before the theater -using a car service - and really hope the plane is on time.
