I am getting set up to travel to Portland, OR and am in the process of setting up a hotel. I do not want to stay in Portland, but I am having a hard time finding ways to travel from the surrounding cities. I am taking a train into Portland and I do not want to rent a vehicle.
I am looking to get a hotel in Oregon City, but I cannot find transport from there to Portland.
Are there buses that run from local towns and cities into Portland? Where do I look for this information? I cannot find it on the trimet site.
Thank you for your help!

Why Oregon City?
Don't know the particulars of the public transportation to Oregon City - but in general - Portland has a good light rail system, and maybe you could stay somewhere close to one of it's stops. see: http://www.travelportland.com/transportation/getting-around/trains-buses/max-light-rail-getting-around-portland-2013-travel-portland
And I just checked on the bus line - from a place in Oregon City to downtown Portland: http://www.trimet.org/go/cgi-bin/itin.pl
Fooey - the page I had copied wasn't the route - but try this:

If you really want to stay in Clackamas County, you will have better luck with Trimet connections closer to the Clackamas Town Center.
Which train are you coming in on? Amtrak does have a stop in Oregon City. It is not near any hotels but you may be able to call a taxi.
There are 2 HI Hostels in Portland. One on Glissan is better.
You really need a car if you want to go out and see the nice waterfalls.
