We are traveling July 4th week for 7 nights, flying into Portland,Me and planning on staying at Anchor Watch B&B in Boothbay for 3 days and then traveling to Jackson,NH for 3 days at Nestlebrook B&B. Any suggestions on this plan, will we need more time in Maine than NH. Thanks

Welcome to the forum, dunkel!
It's hard to answer your guestion without knowing what types of things you're planning on seeing/doing. Personally I NEVER have enough time in Maine, but we're hikers who love being near the ocean.

If you want lobster, there's a co-op in town next to the catholic church. If you hit it on the 4th, watch the fireworks from there. Or else go out to Southport Island and try Robinson's on Townsend Gut. Great lobster with great views of boats, etc. P.S. Go to Andrews for breakfest & their cinnamon buns.

Hi, while in Maine try to go to Ogunquit and Kennebunkport. Nice seaport towns. I'd think more time in Maine than NH would be my choice. In alot of shops in Maine they will ship your purchases to your home. I liked that tip. Alot of local artists in Ogunquit. I bought 4 prints - the wife painted them and the husband framed them. Great restaurants there too. Have fun!
