Travel from Hartford to Newark Airport
I am travelling with my family (me, wife and 6 month old baby) from Hartford to Newark airport. What would be the best options considering I would have lot of luggage as well?

For a family with an infant - and luggage plus baby "stuff" -Amtrak to NYC then NJ Transit to Newark then the Air Train to the airport would be awfully complicated - although probably quite a bit cheaper.

There is a once-a-day Amtrak train (Northeast Corridor) that you could take directly from Hartford to Newark airport -- or maybe more convenient to get off at Newark Penn Station and then a taxi to avoid switching to the airport shuttle (another train).
There are more trains a day, that require a change in New Haven. The change is easy -- basically the only purpose of the (from north of Hartford) shuttle is to meet the train to NYC (continuing on to Newark), so it's just a walk across the platform.
This would be a good time to get a porter to help, but I don't know if the smaller stations have porters.

Weekday fares on Amtrak range from $90 for 2 adults up to $164.
Children under 2 travel free on Amtrak. The Northeast Regional train stops in HFD a little after 7AM. A little over an hour later an Amtrak shuttle bus leaves Hartford and goes to New Haven to connect with a train that makes a stop at EWR.

Frankly, I'd drive. It's a 3-hour trip on a weekday, perhaps longer or shorter on a weekend. Even with a drop-off fee, a rental car is probably going to be cheaper. I can't imagine a private car service would cost less than $300, and that's if you could get someone to do the trip. I know nothing about the companies operating in Hartford.
Otherwise, I think one of the buses is your best bet.
