Transportation suggestions from Charleston Executive Airport

My husband and I are flying into Charleston Executive Airport (JZI) for a long Christmas weekend and need to figure out transportation to downtown Charleston. Since we'll be in town and can walk & bike everywhere we want to go, renting a car would just be a wasteful expense. Does anyone have suggestions or know what (affordable) transportation options there are from JZI? Thank you!

Take a taxi. I assume it is at the airport and that is not far from center of town. Charleston is small.

This is a small airport and I doubt that there will be taxis waiting there. However you could call for a taxi to be there when you land. It's about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes from downtown Charleston, so you might like to have one set up ahead of time.

one website for an airport taxi (there are others)

Please. Maybe at high traffic.
Here are several ideas.
Taxi:

For those who like to get into the city in less than 30 minutes, we recommend taking a taxi. The 12-mile ride costs about $25-$30 for 2 passengers (+ $14 extra charges per additional passenger). For non-metered rides make sure you agree on a fixed rate beforehand. Check out how much each route usually costs here: http://www.chs-airport.com/Transport...Subpage-2.aspx

Shuttle:

There is also a CHS aiport shuttle service to Downtown Charleston. It departs roughly every 15 minutes, and is $14.00 + tip per person. Advanced reservations are not necessary. The shuttle is a shared ride, so be prepared to make several stops depending on how many passengers there are. The shuttles and taxis leave in front of the terminal building, outside of baggage claim area. For more information, destinations and prices, click here.

The airport the OP is referring to is on Johns Island, off River Road, closer to Kiawah and Seabrook Islands. It's a very small airport. Most of the planes are smaller, private planes, though the airport is public, not private. It is unlikely that taxis would be there on a regular basis. I pass it most every time I take that route into Charleston. It takes 1/2 hour to 45 minutes.

Thanks for all of your input. Kathleen is correct, we are not flying into CHS. We will probably use Uber as it should be slightly less expensive than a taxi. Just thought I'd check with folks more familiar with the area than myself to see if there was a better option. Again, thank you for your help!

I think Uber or a taxi is your best bet. Have a great trip!
