We want to travel from Montreal to Burlington VT. Air fares and rental cars are too expensive. We want to avoid Greyhound. Has anyone heard of the New England Taxi Company out of Burlington? They advertise a flat rate $165.00 from Montreal airport to Burlington airport. Are they reliable?

Driving between Burlington and Montreal makes a great day trip, one I have enjoyed many times. I think driving is the best option. After trying other methods (bus, van tour, etc) I must say the comfort and flexibility I had in the car was well worth it. I will only do it by car now between these two great cities.
I know you said rental cars are too pricey. Are there other options? Is it the border crossing that makes it so pricey? I often get rental cars much cheaper by Priceline or Hotwire but have never rented for a border crossing, I admit.
One way rentals are expensive or difficult. You could take the train but your schedule may not fit theirs. The bus is not sleazy, so there really is no reason to avoid it.
I have used New England several times
yes they have been reliable for me and also much less than a Canadian taxi.
