Transportation between Seattle airport and Victoria Clipper pier

A friend and I are planning to fly into Seattle and go to Victoria for 6 days, via the Victoria Clipper.
Our timing is going to be a little tight and I'd love some opinions about how risky our plan is. Our flight is due in at 1:35 and the Clipper last boarding is at 2:45.
Returning we have 2 hours and 10 minutes between the scheduled arrival of the Clipper and the departure of our plane. But we will also have to go through customs off the Clipper, from what I've read.
We won't be checking luggage on the plane, but probably will have to on the Clipper. I'm assuming that a taxi would be the fastest way between the two.
Assuming no flight delays (!), does this sound doable or should we start looking into a night at a Seattle hotel?
Thanks in advance!

I would not risk that close a connection in either direction. A taxi would be your only hope, but with existing massive construction along the Seattle central waterfront, traffic congestion coming into the city... yikes.

Often flying to Victoria as part of the same ticket doesn't cost that much more, so I'd investigate just staying at Seatac and flying to YYJ.

Gardyloo lives in the area and would know more -- but I have done the SeaTac to Clipper transfer and I'd never EVER attempt that short a connection. The traffic was really bad.

(I had much more time between landing and the sailing so met up w/ a Fodorite and had lunch. Returning from Victoria I flew to Lake Union on a float plane and the fare included a shuttle to SeaTac. Took forever.)

Wow, I'm sure glad I asked! I thought we'd probably be OK at least on the return trip. Our travelling days are Thursday and Wednesday, if it matters.
We were originally thinking of spending a night in Seattle, it sounds like that would be a good idea. I'm surprised at how full the hotels are two weeks out.

September is prime tourist season in Seattle, which is why the hotels are booked. Everyone is correct about adding more time both coming and going between your flights and the Victoria trip. You will be very glad you did.
