Transport Manchester,N.H. Airport to Boston

Will be flying into Manchester, N.H. Is there any form of regularly scheduled public transport from the Manchester airport into Boston? Would like avoid hiring a car to drive into Boston, as all I would do is park it once there and also have to pay daily parking rates. Any help will be appreciated. Cheers.

Although I don't know the public bus schedule, I can recommend Amoskeag limo service to get you where you need to go from Manchester.

Vermont Trailways (actually Greyhound) runs buses from Manchester, NH to South Station, however, you will have to check the schedule. I don't know if there is a stop at the airport or not. You might find some type of shuttle service from the Manchester airport into Boston or at least to Logan Airport. The other option is to get to Lowell and take the commuter rail to North Station.

Yikes, with Manchester Airport promoting itself as an alternative to Logan, they'd BETTER have a way to get people into Boston!

Here's the link to ground transportation to Boston from MHT. You'll have to call the bus company and/or taxi services since only phone numbers are given:

Vermont Transit has (or did a few months ago) a counter in South Station. Find schedule at http://www.vermonttransit.com/table62.html#3:15a but must call for prices. I think $27 r/t, not sure.

Suzy---Manchester AIRPORT is touted as a better alternative to Boston because: it is MUCH easier driving wise to get in/out of, parking is MUCH cheaper, 7 out of 10 flights are cheaper, airport is mid size and impossible to get lost in.

Original poster....why not just fly into Boston? By the time you add the cost of your ground transfer from Manchester to Boston I imagine the flight would price the same or a bit more. If you need to be in Manchester for business and plan to go to Boston for leisure/downtime, I would think you could find a cheap weekend rental rate. That way you wouldn't have to depend on a bus schedule to get back to Manchester.

Revisiting this question since this info is a little old. We are flying in and out of Manchester airport but only need cars at either end of the trip so we were looking at one way rentals p-u MHT drop BOS and then pickup downtown Boston and drop MHT and especially the latter one is turning out to be very expensive. I did call Vermont Transit and their fare is $15.00 ow pp South Station, Boston to MHT. Are trains a possibility or do you think this Vermont Transit is our best bet and then just do the car rental as pickup and dropoff from MHT?
