Towns, Villages, Scenic Drives Near Cannon Beach?
I'll be visiting Cannon Beach and staying at the Stephanie Inn for a weekend at the beginning of October. Are there any coastal towns and villages I shouldn't miss? Tillamook? Astoria? Scenic drives? I'd like to stay within 1-2 driving hours of the Cannon Beach area.
Thank you!

Our favorite day trips from Cannon Beach are to the Three Capes Loop, south of Tillamook, and to Cape Disappointment, WA--across the Astoria Bridge.
Both trips include the possibility of interesting places to see along the way.

Another vote for the Three Capes Scenic Loop. When you reach Pacific City, spend some time at Cape Kiwanda. I like the hike up the dune there as the views from the top are amazing. Have lunch at the Pelican Pub and Brewery before heading back to CB.

Long before they fenced the top of Cape Kiwanda DH and friends used to dive off it into the channel there.
I like Manzanita also. However, if you're staying at The Stephanie, it will be hard to drag yourselves away.

Make sure to stop at the Tillamook Cheese factory for ice cream and/or cheese.
In Seaside, walk a section of the Promenade and maybe see the spot where some of the Corps of Discovery extracted salt from seawater. The Astoria Column is worth a visit too.
