Kareen, it is 500 miles or 830 km from Toronto to NY. What I'm about to say now was stated on your thread about Los Angeles but it bears repeating. You need to do a little more research to discover the size of the North American continent. You will not find a tour that will take you to NY for the day from Toronto because it's just too far. I don't know where you are from, but you need to know that the US and Canada are both HUGE countries. Please take this in the spirit in which it is given, I'm really just trying to help.

I just read some of your other posts. It seems that you are trying to see as much of the US as possible in a short period of time. Thank you for wanting to see so much of our country, but you are going to spend your entire time sitting on a bus seeing it pass by the window if you try to do this.
When in Los Angeles, see LA, when in Toronto (I know, not part of US), see Toronto, etc. I think you will be much happier, see more and have a better time if you plan your trip this way.

Kareen, you didn't say "...to New York City" - so if you went to the Niagara Falls and crossed over into the U.S. side, you would be in the state of New York (usually called upstate N.Y.) - will that do? There are indeed daytours - just google Toronto Niagara tours.
But New York City? Forget it

If you mean a day trip from toronto to NYC - no there is no such thing. Driving or train is not an option - at least 8/9 hours each way. And it;s not even like Boston or Washington where they have shuttles to NYC hourly.
If you must spend a few hours in NYC the only way is to fly and IMHO it's just not worth the time (mostly traveling) and the money for the little you would get to see.
In 4 days you can do Toronto OR NYC - not both.
