Top of the Rock question
So, if we decided to do the Top of the Rock after the sun sets, would we really be missing out? I'd prefer to time it for sunset so we could enjoy the contrast of day versus night, but with limited time, I'm not sure our day will pan out that way.

You'll just have a very different perspective than you would in daylight. You won't be able to see the park, which is one advantage TOR has over the Empire State Building. But, you will see the lights all over the city...so I wouldn't say it's a complete miss!

Don't worry you can't plan everything!
The views are great and we went at dusk but were too hungry to hang around until all the lights came on but still had a fantastic time.
You can always make the excuse that you have to go back as you didn't see it in daylight/ after dark!

We went late in the evening and loved the views. We actually could pick out some things in Central Park. Don't know if it was due to all the lights, or if maybe the moon was full. One nice thing about going late was there was no line and few other people.
