Tombstone, AZ for a day
We will be in Tombstone, AZ for one day the first week of July. We will have a six year old and a nine year old. What should we be sure not to miss? Where is a good place to eat?

There is a gold mine tour, the OK Corral re-enactment, which the boys will enjoy. The Birdcage Theatre is also very interesting as is just walking around. There are a number of eating places, but the Crystal Palace was slightly better than the other options, but can't remember if kids were allowed in. The Longhorn Restaurant in the town is not too bad.

In a day you have plenty of time to also visit Bisbee, which is interesting, too, and only about 23 miles from Tombstone: http://www.cityofbisbee.com

My wife and I did this walking tour when we were in Tombstone last year. It was great. I think the kids would like it, but hard for me to say for sure. We did the two hour tour, maybe one is enough for kids?

You should watch one or two of the movies about Tombstone and the OK Corral before you go.
Agree that it's just fun walking the town. You could check out Boot Hill too. Also not far are the incredible caves at Kartchner Caverns State Park.
