To Rent a Tux & Wedding Dress in Vegas

I am planning on getting married in Vegas on New Years Day, 2004. Do you know where to go to rent a tux and wedding dress? & also, what price ranges can I expect to pay during this time of the year?

Wayne, no offense but shouldn't you leave the wedding dress up to the bride?

I would bet Vegas has every tuxedo rental chain store known to man. Your local tux shop may have an affiliation or branch in Vegas. I would start with your local stores.

I've never seen any store that rented wedding dresses, and I live in a very large city. Wedding dresses usually have to be altered to fit nicely, so it would be difficult to find one that would fit many people. If you're looking for cheap, I would try buying on Ebay...

Just curious, Wayne, does the bride to be know about the ceremony? Even with a gown rental the bride will still need to be fitted for it & have alterations made. I would plan arrival in LV a few days earlier than mentioned before if possible. For gown rental try: www.chapelofthebellslasvegas.com (800-233-2391) David's Bridal? 702-367-4779

Definitely www.bridalelegance.com 702-364-8840 and www.jlbridal.com 702-366-9199 rent tuxes and gowns. I have a LV phone book. My elopment gown rental cost $200 but that was 9 years ago. I was fitted in LV 2 weeks prior and returned a few days before to try on the dress to make sure it fit. The tux should cost around $130. I also really think you should get the marriage license as soon as you arrive in town. New Year's eve will be a nightmare & you don't need the stress!

I'm definitely enjoying reading your posts, brings back many happy memories

I'm no expert on this, Christie, but there are a lot of things in Las Vegas no one else has ever seen. I'd not be surprised to see rental wedding dresses. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if they rent wedding rings as well.

Okay, bridalelegance & jlbridal both have same day try on & fitting. But you better call now because there will be a mad rush on New Year's. Good luck

I am no rethinking in purchasing the gown instead of renting - she is somewhat of a sentimental although I am sure she will be ok on eloping. We will likely have a separate ceremony in her home country (Argentina) next year, where her parents will be able to see their daughter get married. I will purchase the dress before we arrive in Vegas, I'll have her choose the dress & get the fitting, etc., however, I'll pick up the dress and carry to vegas as a surprise to her. Regarding the Tux, I'll purchase this also, I found a good deal.

Thanks for your responses, I appreciate your help as I am trying to work this process thru for a memorable experience for both of us.

Good for you, Wayne. Everything will work out just fine. Hubby & I did the same thing. We eloped to Las Vegas and remarried a year later with a traditional family ceremony. The funnest part is the taking off to Las Vegas. It will make for great stories in the future! Best of luck.
