To Do Near Shawme-Crowell State Park, MA?
We're camping at the park this weekend. Any suggestions for fun daytime stuff on Saturday or early Sunday? Any nearby farmer's markets? Strawberry picking? Antiquing? Hiking? All tips welcome.

I grew up a few miles from there!
Suggestions:
Take a walk on the boardwalk over the marsh. Take a right out of the camp (rte 130 is Old Main St.) to old town hall, bear left (still Old Main) to Jarves St. Turn left on Jarves, go through lights to Tjunction w/Factory st. On right very soon will be Boradwalk Rd. Go to parking lot and walk over the marsh to the dunes.
Walk or bike along the canal on the service road(no cars allowed). From camp go left back to 6A. Cross 6A to Tupper Road. Just past Stop&Shop take Freezer Rd. on left to parking lot and entrance to Service Rd. (near the electric plant)
There are lots of antique shops in Sandwich and up and down 6A. There is an "antique center" at the lights at intersection of 6A and Jarves.
The glass museum (near the old town hall on your right when coming from Shawme Crowell) has a glass blower and exhibits on the history of Sandwich glass and great glass collections and a bit of local history.
There are several conservation areas with hiking trails. Murkwood is on your left on 6A coming from Sandwich.
Take rte 6A east about 4 miles to Old County Road (a little past Christies Market on right). Take a right on Old County. Enjoy views of cranberry bogs, go over the railroad tracks, over the hill (I don't know how much history interests you, but on your left is the old grange hall and the Benjamin Nye House which you can visit) and continue on until you see the sign for Talbot conservation area on your left. The walk takes you through woods out to views of the marsh.
Green Briar Nature Center is in East Sandwich (heading east on 6A on your left a couple miles out of town.) has wonderful trails for hiking, an education center for wildlife, and a kitchen where they make relishes and jellies--wonderful smells--and sun cooked fruit which you can buy in the gift shop.
Hope this gives you a few ideas!

Seafood Sam's is down near the canal, near the coast guard station. You can eat in or take out and go park down by the marina and enjoy watching the boats and ships on the canal as you eat.
Aqua Grill is an eat in place--a bit fancier and pricier, but with a larger menu selection.
Since you are camping, I assume that you have a few utensils and maybe a cooler. If that is the case, pop into Joe's fishmarket down by the canal and pick up lobster meat and make your own.
Captain Scott's is good, but generally we prefer Seafood Sam's. Captain Scott's is on Tupper Road near the Stop &Shop shopping center. It is eat in or take out.
The Daniel Webster tavern has early bird specials and menu which include lobster bisque and lobster roll, lobster salad.
(I don't live in Sandwich any more but go back once a month or so to visit family.) I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Bennie, Whadya mean, "no atmosphere at Seafood Sam's"? There is atmosphere: clinking dishes, a loudspeaker, "number ___, your order is ready", families with kids and little ones who wander, serve yourself drinks and bus your own table and the delicious aromas of seafood cooking.
Just kidding. The food is great! And it is fun to watch other families having fun. When there is a big group of us, we go and push tables together for boisterous family time supper. There are booths and when we have fewer family we squeeze into one of them, enjoy watching others and chatting with neighbors. When we eat in, it is great to get up, dump your plates, and go home to a clean kitchen.
I fogot to mention we sometimes go to Twin Acres for dessert. Wonderful ice cream, soft serve and regular and all sorts of ice cream dishes. Twin Acres is on RTE 6A.
