Time of year to visit Sarasotq
My husband and I are planning a trip to Sarasota for 4 days. We can go either January 6-10 or in mid-March. We are going to do sightseeing, the Ringling Brothers museum, nature walks, but not lying on the beach. Which of the two times would be better? Thanks for your input. Nancy

While there is little doubt the weather will be nicer in March than January, I'd suggest you do January which will be far less busy and crowded. Assuming you're from the north, you may still find the weather good in January -- still much better than most of the nation, and possibly absolutely gorgeous, we just never know. You'll probably also get better hotel rates.

Thanks for your suggestions. We will come in January. do you think it makes much difference if we stay on the mainland or on one of the keys? We will only be in the area for 3 1/2 days and I want to make the most of it, not sitting in traffic for long periods of time. We want to see Ringling Brothers Museum, Myakka State Park, the Botanical Gardens, Historic Spanish Point and take a boat tour. Cane we get all that done in the time we have available? We can get a good deal at the Residence Inn. Would that be a convenient place to stay? Thanks, Nancy

Nancy,
I think you can accomplish all that in the time you have, as long as you don't sleep in late. It depends on what type of vacationers you are.
With your goals, I don't think you need to stay on the beach. I wish I knew accomodations, but living here I don't need them. You might want to start a new post with a Sarasota Lodging title and see what information you can get.
