Three Southern capital city day trips

Jump to last reply

Am considering exploring three Southern US capital cities as full day trips. Here are the itineraries being considered as of now.

--Jackson, MS
11 AM: State Capitol (self-guided tour)
1 PM: Old State Capitol
3 PM: Mississippi Museum of Art
These all appear to be within reasonable walking distance.

--Little Rock, AR
9 AM: Arkansas Museum of Art
11:30 AM: State Capitol (self-guided tour)
1:30 PM: Old State Capitol (this may be dropped for time if need be)
3 PM: Clinton Presidential Library
The state capitol may need to be reached via city bus, but the rest appear to be within reasonable walking distance.

--Baton Rouge, LA
8 AM: State capitol (self-guided tour)
9 AM: Louisiana State Museum
11:30 AM: Old State Capitol
3 PM: Magnolia Mound Plantation (tour)
The plantation needs to be reached via city bus, but the rest appear to be within reasonable walking distance.

I don't expect I'll have time to tour the Governor's Mansion in Jackson, or I'd include it.

Am thinking this is a reasonable itinerary for all three, but would like feedback on tweaking or anything else that's a must that I've missed.

Many thanks.
