Things to do in Hawthorne, Cal
I will be staying in Hawthorne, CA this week and will be going to the Rose Bowl parade. Anyone have suggestions on what to do in and around Hawthorne, CA? I will not have access to a car, only taxi.

The Green Line metro has a few stations on the western and northern edges of Hawthorne. Go to www.metro.net. Click on Riding the Metro and look for maps of the various lines.
Although it will take some time, you can get to Long Beach, downtown L.A., Hollywood, Universal, Pasadena. From Union Station (downtown L.A.), you can take Amtrak south to San Diego or north to Santa Barbara.

Manhattan Beach is probably the closest attraction. Straight out Manhattan Blvd.
There may be some bus routings that could get you there (check metro.net) but probably more convenient to take a taxi.

Are you staying at one of the hotels near Aviation Blvd. and Rosecrans? Many restaurants, shopping, and mega movie complex just down the street on Rosecrans in Manhattan Beach/El Segundo.
The downtown area of MB, a couple miles west, has a great pier, bike path and Strand (boardwalk) area.
