The Inn and Spa at Mill Falls,Meredith?

Dear all.
Have you ever been at the Inn & Spa at Mill Falls in Meredith,NH?
I´ve just booked for me and my family to spend New years Eve and New year Day there. We will only stay a couple of days while traveling towards Stratton. We are looking for a quiet place to spend these days since last time while in SF everybody got crazy and my daughter is 11 years old.
Do you think this is really a good choice?

Thank you
Ramón

Mewredith is a bit of a sleepy little town but the Inn there is quite nice and right on the lake.

There are a few things to see and do north of Meredith, like Old Man of the Mountain (although his face fell off not log ago) Indian Head, The flume and Santa Village.

There is a bit of shopping downtown Meredith, and everywhere in and around the area you will find Annalee Dolls (locally made and beloved), you can tour the Annalee Factory (check out Annalee dolls on ebay to see what they look like)

There are tours you can take of the lake on boats, a few good restaurants in the area, like Hartz Turkey Farm, and some well known local eateries. Don't know if Samaha's is still open downtown (local clothing store, with quite nice clothing), and down the road is The Weirs another local fun spot.

In the area are alot of outlet shopping closer to Laconia.

Hope this helps a bit. I grew up in the Meredith area, and I think you will find the people there very warm and welcoming. Enjoy!!!

Yes that would be a fine place for New Year's Eve and Day....the group of Inns have some nice restaurants, a little shopping, if the weather is nice (that is...cold enough) there is ice skating on the lake. Very nice New England setting.
