The format of this forum is not condusive to good discussion

Hi
I belive this site needs an overhaul - there are so may sites with good forum software but Im afraid this is not one of them - its hard to search and in 10 mins your discussion is off the botttom of the list and gone forever. The topics and the discussions are great but the software provided doesnt do it justice (eg of a good one www.dpr.com) Hope the webmaster is reading!!
Best regards
Andrew

First, I love this site. True only the top 50 are in full view, but you can scroll and search. What I hate about other boards is all the abbreviations and inability to easily see replies. My experience has been that you have to click on a new link to see each reply and you lose sight of the original question/post.

Second, I don't see dpr.com??

OK, got the right site. But unless I'm doing something wrong, I can only see one reply at a time. I like this format where you can easily scroll through to see all replies. Is there a way to lay it out like that when viewing the other (and most other) sites?

can't figure out your beef with the format. Bigger problem - contents. Most who post are travelling to places few frequent. Not much value-added on the USA site. Fix that, then worry about the format.

I like this forum. I find it easy to read, respond, check back into and simple to navigate.

I like that I can read the original post and all replies even when I am posting a reply.

I like that I can see the topics at the left and I don't have to GO to another page to keep reading topics.

On other sites I get tired of having to GO somewhere else to keep looking.

I, too love this site and check it several times each day (anyone want to form a support group for addicted Fodorites?). The mechanics and content aren't perfect, but this format is SO much better than many other sites I've tried to navigate and the price is certainly right. Fodors, a division of Random House, is providing an indespensible service to travelers everywhere. You go, Fodor folks! (How about hot links??)

Ditto Betsy!
We need a Wine Country Fodor's GTG, yah?

Speaking of "hot links", time to go throw some on for the 49er exhib. game tonight!

I really can't wait for school to be in session again. Normally, I would not even RESPOND to such a mindless post, but I, for one, am TIRED of idiots taking up space. At least, before you post, consult your dictionary as to the spelling of one of the words of your thread, please........then perhaps you might at least learn SOMETHING!

Where ya been, Kal?

Missed the game on the teevee because we were at the Murphy Avenue Wednesday night street fair/farmer's market in downtown Sunnyvale. Good band, good food and good locally brewed beer. Fine way to spend a late summer evening and do our civic duty as well.

A definite affirmative to a GTG somewhere in the area soon. Anyone want to step up to the plate to organize?
