In a couple of weeks we will be coming to the USA for our California road trip, SF to LA.
From the itineray i have mapped out we will arrive in Santa Barbara on Thanksgiving. (last time we were in the US for Thanksgiving we were in LA and didn't really do anything "thanksgivingy"
Anyhow - I finally got a decent hotel res (not exactly where we wanted to stay but then that's the price you pay when you procrastinate) does anyone have any restaurant recommendations on places we can go for dinner on Thanksgiving?
Happy to go upscale, ideally would be an easy stroll from the town centre but happy to drive for a place that's worth it. I'm guessing a traditional dinner would be nice but open to suggestions. (i am bit concerened i have left it a bit late)
thanks in advance

The Four Seasons will have a Thanksgiving buffet from noon till 8pm. It is in a beautiful setting near the ocean.
Miro at the Bacara Resort, but you'd likely have to drive.

bouchon.

Not sure of their plans for Thanksgiving, but Louie's at the Upham Hotel.

Many thanks to both of you. I had actually looked at Bouchon but no availability on open table.
Also liked the look og Julienne?? Any thoughts for that place.
Joe's Cafe on State St. will be open for Thanksgiving.

I did have a great breakfast there once.
Make a reservation somewhere and keep looking/investigating; otherwise, you may go hungry.
Forgot to say that Julienne doesn't feel "Thanksgiving-ish" to me. Ditto Joe's Cafe.
My first choice might be Louie's unless you like the large hotel/resort atmosphere (which is very, very nice in the case of the 4 Seasons and Bacara).
Call Bouchon. Open table isn't always right on availability.
RESULT! I just called Bouchon, they have a table! So am all booked and it's walkable from our hotel!
