Terrorist Alert Increase to Orange

Listening to the news, recent "chatter" is telling Muslims to leave the major East Coast cities.

I have plans to fly from Newark to SF this weekend, and my wife is a little nervous.

How is this going to affect your Memorial Day weekend planning?

Heard the cities include Boston, New York and the beaches but I didn't hear specifically which beaches. We're planning on a trip to our home away from home this weekend, Charleston, and will still be going. I don't see any reason to change plans.

New York forecast calls for rain this weekend, looks like the chatter does not what they are talking about!

Our friend was given one hour to pack and head to Philadelphia to help guard the Liberty Bell yesterday. So I guess there may be longer waits at such sites because of increased security right now.

New York has always been on Orange Alert, so nothing's changed here.

I come & go as usual.

If I'd plan a vacation it would take more then an orange to make me to change my plans. It would take at least a lemon. I gave up travelling on holidays while I can. Expensive hotels, long lines, overcrowded restaurants and museums... I am lucky to live in San Francisco to experience all this

I heard two squirrels chatter in my backyard. Should I go and shoot them?

Hi buckeyemom!! You'd best call John Ashcroft about those squirrels-- he can ship 'em off to Guantánamo Bay lickety-split!

Yea RJ but then the darn things would try to make a makeshift raft or swim to Key West and we are right back where we started from.

Come on out and enjoy our lovely Sonoma County ! I always like to advise checking out www.wineroad.com before a visit here ( I am partial to the areas west of Hwy 101 here) Also check out Kals' post on the "Other Topics" board. There are some great listings of wineries and wine favorites of us "Wine-O's" posted. I hope you will find my 'backyard' a soothing elixer to the world's worries. Safe travels to you !
