Talking Stick Resort, Scottsdale, Arizona

Still searching for a place warm enough for my SO to golf in February. (Florida would be the only other place warm enough but it's too $$$$$)

Anyone know anything about the Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale. Expedia has a decent package deal there and the weather is warm and sunny enough for us. The place looks nice and gets excellent reviews. What do you think?

Thanks
gtg

I think you might find bargain (relatively) rates there because it's fairly new and hasn't built up a returning clientele yet, unlike the older more established resorts. With almost 500 rooms it's probably hard for them to fill them all except in March or unless they score a big convention.

Anyway, I haven't visited this particular resort but as a local I've heard only good things about it to date. If the rate looks good then I'd snap it up. Lots of things to do in the Scottsdale area if you get bored with resort living.

By the way, what happens in March?

In addition to the great spring weather while most of the northern states are still cold it's also the month that major league baseball holds spring training. I think 15 teams train here so many fans come for that, especially for popular teams from cold weather areas like, say, Chicago.

So March is typically the busiest month at the airport and for rental cars and resorts/hotels etc.

We'll be desperate for a warm(ish) vacation by February and that's the only time during the semester we can go, so I'm glad we're there before the March rush.

Deb, thanks so much for all that info! I'll take my time reading your trip report and make notes and we'll definitely be interested in hearing some music to the jazz site is a big help.
