SW Colorado & NE Arizona

Jump to last reply

DH & I are thinking about taking a 5-6 day trip to SW Colorado and NE Arizona around Labor day. We were thinking of stopping at Mesa Verde and then going down to Monument Valley. I was interested in doing one of the tours of Monument Valley with a Hopi or Navajo guide. Has anyone done this tour and how was it? DH can't walk too far, about 1/2 mile max, but I'm ok with walking a bit farther.

Accomodation doesn't have to be 5*, just clean and comfortable, and preferably under $100 per night, or maybe a little more depending on the accomodation. We would be driving from Denver, so some times and distance would be helpful. We haven't been to this area before, so any tips on what to do and see would be welcome.
