Is there a supermarket in Princeville? If so, what's its name, please? We're staying at a condo at the Cliffs in Princeville and are trying to decide whether to do our grocery shopping at a supermarket in Kapa'a (space somewhat limited in the rental car) or wait until we get to Princeville? Also, what about fresh fruit and produce stands either in Princeville or Hanalei? Any recommendations? Thanks ever so much.

There is one in Princeville, in the shopping center just passed the entrance (at least there was in 2001), however Kapa'a was cheaper then, and I suspect it hasn't changed.

There are fruit stands on the road from Kapa's to Princeville as well as a farmers' market in Hanalei..You'll have to check with someone else re: what day(s) the farmers' market is. The market in Princeville I thought was preferable to the Safeway in Kapa'a.

Foodland is in the Princeville Shopping Center. Very pricey almost to the point of being ridiculous.

Your best bet is to stop at Safeway near Kapa'a before heading north.
