Looking for a buffet-style Sunday brunch where family from four southern California counties (San Diego, San Bernardino, Orange and east LA) can meet. We've tried the Temecula Creek Inn which was fine but would like to find another location. Don't want to drive into Los Angeles but Orange County could be easier on the San Diego relatives. Want to keep in under $50 per person, does not have to include champagne and there won't be children with us. Appreciate any restaurant or hotel suggestions.

Not a buffet, but look at Veranda at Grand Traditions in Fallbrook. Beautiful gardens.

Jean-I live in Fallbrook, the Grand Tradition is gorgeous. Thanks for recommending it. A bit of trek, I guess, for the east LA people but not much farther than Temecula.

Not as many restaurants serve brunch buffet these days unless it's a holiday like Easter. I haven't been here but looks like a pretty central location for all your family.

I was also thinking Las Brisas in Laguna Beach, great view, not sure about the menu.

Don't know what the price is these days but hard to beat the Queen Mary for Sunday brunch, there are at least seven serving stations. If that is too pricey, there is a nice restaurant a block's drive away called the Reef, had brunch there twice and you can order off the menu or do the buffet.

Thanks for these suggestions, keep 'em coming! Should have said it is for Easter. Have looked at the Veranda and will consider it further. Long Beach is a trek for those in San Berdu if there is traffic. Have been to both Orange Hill and Las Brisas over the years but did not know they offered buffet. Sadly recent reviews for Orange Hill are not very good.

Scootoir, sadly, San Berdu is a trek from anywhere else unless you go to the Mission Inn in Riverside.

Too true Jamie. We have done the Mission Inn but San Diego relatives were hoping for something a little closer to them. I called the Temecula Creek Inn but they had not released their Easter menu yet. I've not been to wineries in Temecula so should probably investigate those as well.

If Laguna Beach is a good location, we had brunch as Las Brisas a few months ago. It was very good. Much better than the dinner we had there. And the view is unsurpassed. After brunch, you can stretch your legs on the paved walking path above the beach. It's pretty flat and nicely landscaped, with a gazebo or two at lookout points over the ocean.

Temecula Creek Inn is wonderful, have stayed there several times but only had dinner and breakfast there. The weekend we were there with friends, they had a managers' wine and cheese reception one night.
If you like reds, I recommend Hart, the first or second vineyard you come to on the left side of the road heading up Rancho California Road to the vineyards. Nice family owned place and not real big. Met one of the owners once a long time ago.
Also check out downtown Temecula there are some cute shops and nice restaurants there, also a couple of blocks of wooden boardwalk.

Loads of places have great Easter brunches in San Diego, the Hotel Del being one of them.

And there are others with great views of the bay/ocean. Why go anywhere else than where you can have a view of the ocean while enjoying a great brunch?
