We are planning for 4 day vacation by the end of November in US mainland. We will be traveling with a 9 month old baby. So, skiing, etc might not be possible. Please suggest some vacation spots - preferably less crowded spots. We live in NY.

Hi,
You do not say what you are mostly interested in and how far you wish to travel. My choice would be the Berkshires in Mass only because I am dying to take a ride up there myself. I hear it is very nice and the Norman Rockwell Museum is up that way. If you are into that stuff, perhaps with a baby it could be hard. That would be my choice. (It was picked for me on Fodor's, I still have not been)
Enjoy!
Actually, I think skiing would be a great vacation with a baby. Just put the baby in the nursery at the ski mountain. Built in babysitting. Though I'm not sure the skiing would be all that good at the end of November.
Where are you located and how far/long do you want to fly?
There is unlikely to be good skiing east of Colorado at that time.
How about Miami Beach or Sarasota? New Orleans?
If you want to drive or take a shorter trip, Washington or Boston, but any way you go, a 9 month old baby is going to make a lot of demands. Could you bring a nanny? If not, then make sure babysitting is available through your hotel if you plan to go out at night.
We need more info from you:
What type of activities do you and your partner like to see and/or do?
When at the "end of November" are you going? Do you mean over the Thanksgiving weekend?
Will you be flying or driving to your destination?
Do you want to go someplace warm or are you OK with cool or even cold?
What type of budget do you have for trip? Give us a dollar amount not some nebulous term like "affordable", "won't break the bank" or "not too expensive".
Are you looking for "kid friendly" activities? FYI - there's really not too much a 9 month old baby can do while on "vacation" so you are pretty much limited to doing adult things where you'll just have your child "in tow".
Just choose a destination that interests you and go. As RoamsAround says, there's not much a 9-month old can do on "vacation" anyway, so you might as well do what you want. Also, having traveled a LOT with my children when they were babies, toddlers, pre-teens, teens, and young adults, I can say that traveling with a 9-month old is not that hard. They aren't walking yet; they takes naps and they sleep through the night, so you just "pack-and-go".
Hello All,
We want to take this vacation just to relax and enjoy. Otherwise, we are into adventure activities and we love nature. we are vacationing around Thanksgiving time. We are willing to drive upto 4 hrs or fly upto 3-4 hrs from nyc. we would prefer a warm to cool locations but not cold. we were thinking of florida. but isnt it too crowded that time of the year? any less crowded vacation ideas welcome! i think our baby is quite manageable as we have been to puerto rico when he was 7 month old.
