We're planning a trip to Newport, RI in the Spring and were wondering where to stay and eat?
Preference would be lodging rates below $130, including taxes. At first glance, I've noticed that rates start to go up after Apr 1. So any websites or thoughts on ways to get discounted prices is greatly appreciated.
We also love good food, especially seafood. So, any names of value gourmet type restaurants would be greatly appreciated (if there is such a thing).
Thanks for your help!

The Francis Malbone house on Thames would be a excellent choice if you can get a before the season statrs price. Great rooms.whirlpools and a first class breakfast. its on Thames St. which has a great choice of Restaurants are very close. I would suggest Prontos, 5 minutes away. Everything is within a comfortable walk. Borh the B&B & Prontos have websites. These are can't miss choices.
